A THEATRICAL SCANDAL IN ADELAIDE.
Adelaide, June 5.
A case that is exciting some interest came on at the Adelaide local Court to day, when Thomas Hudson, comedian, well known in connection with Hudson's Minstrel Surprise Party, which has been playing a. season of about nine months in Adelaide, was sued for t2OO wages due to a member of the company, known as Miss Ada Maven. Hudson has been living with Miss Maven, whose real name is Amelia Salter, for the last ten years, and promised to marry her. Recently a fascinating pianiste named Miss May Habgood, from London, joined the company, and Hudson fell a victim to her charms and married her. The happy pair were on their way to Melbourne to spend the honeymoon, when the bridegroom was arrested at Serviceton on a warrant taken out by Miss Maven. The prosecutrix states that she was supposed to get a regular salary, and the amount claimed was owing to her. The case was adjourned, and the matter has since been settled out of Court.
