GAS EXPLOSION.
A NARROW ESCAPE

Giseoene, this day. A YOUNG man named Evans had a narrow escape from being killed this morning. He was opening a large safe at Commons and Shelton and Co.'s Office with a lighted match in his hand when an explosion of gas occurred, and he was thrown heavily across the room and severely burned about the face. The gas jet in the safe had not been turned off at night, and the explosion was thus caused ,
