The granting of the sum of £2,000 promised by Government to the Thames Drainage Board is still in doubt, and the following; telegram was on Saturday sent by Mr Cadman, M.H.R., to the Minister of Mines regarding the matter: —"Much uncertainty here in respect to the conditions attached to the £2,000 for the Big Pump. It was understood at a deputation of Auckland members in Wellington that you would carry out whatever Mr Larnach had promised. Kindly wire me to the Thames to-day full particulars.—A.
