IMPORTED MACHINERY.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—Would not the Industrial Association be doing a good and legitimate work if they impressed upon the different governing bodies, such as tho Harbour Board, City Council and others, tho necessity of buying any machinery they require in the colony, if it is possible to do so ? I think there are engineers in Auckland alone who _ would soon have workshops capable of turning out any machinery of this class if they were only encouraged. I saw a report a few days ago of some machinery being imported for a local waterworks. Surely some of our engineers could do work of this kind.—Yours, etc., Fobwabd.
