Sib,—l hope you will permit me through your columns to offer my grateful acknowledgments to tho editorial of the entire Auckland press for the noble appeal made on my behalf through the columns of their respective journals since the destruction of my worldly all by that disastrous fire on the night of the 17th rJt. in Upper Queenstreet. Ido likewise sincerely thank those few friends that came to my aid, especially tho following, viz. :—E. W. Burton, Esq., solicitor ; T.B. Hill, Esq., chemist; Hamilton Bros., chemists ; Professor Aldis, W. Duncan, Esq., Mrs E. Browning, of Ensora, and all other sympathisers.
