The Gold Discovery at Watheke.

With reference to the discovery of gold at Waiheke Island referred to by us last night, we learn that the tests were made at Messrs Fraser and Son's plant. Mr George Fraser, junior, had been down at Waiheke on pleasure a-nd brought up some quantity with him. One piece gave a return equal to £9 per ton, but in other tests the result showed merely a trace of gold and a few-pennyweighta of silver per ton. Arrangements have been made for further tests from tho island at the point nearest Coromandcl.
