Drunkenness.—Three persons were punished for this offence.
No REMnTASCE.—George Henry Adams was charged with imposing on William t>eacon, of Kumeu, by fraudulently representing himself as a remittance man. Mr Clendon appeared for the prosecution, but as he hod only been instructed last night, a remand was allowed till to-morrow.
Alleged Larceny. — Pvobert Murray, charged with tlie larceny of a silver Waltham watch arid silver chain, value £3, the property of John Francis, was remanded till to-morrow. :
By-Laws.—The following penalties were inflicted for breaches of the city by-laws : — Alfred Jowitt, trotting a horse around the corner.of Wellesley and Queen-streets, 3s and costs ; Hugh Heir, plying for hire as the driyer of a hackney carriage without being licensed, 5s and costs ; Andrew John Guy, for employing Andrew Phillips, an unlicensed person, as driver of his carriage, 6s and costs; Luke Webber, failing to secure, the wheel of his vehicle before leaving it unattended, 5s and costs ; Albert Watts, writing On the footpath in Karangahape Road, 2s 6d and costs ; Joseph Eady, allowing a horse to wander in Chancery-street, 5s and costs; William Burtonshaw, having no light on his cart,; summons not servea and case adjourned.
