A. Lively Scene.

Wellington, this day. There was rather an entertaining scene at the second evangelical meeting held last ovening by the Roy. Mr Dowie. In tho course of his remarks, he advorted to the spiritualists, who, he paid, were the most debased, tho most diabolical, the most vile and tho rnoßt wretched creatures on the fnce of tho earth. Thereupon, Mr Wm. McLean, n well-known legal manager and auctioneer, who is President of the Wellington Spiritualistic Association, gob up and oxcitcdly exclaimed ■' That's n l<o ! that's a lie ! flint's the biggest lie you ever told I" JMr Uowio was somewhat dieooncerted, but recovering his composuro he Paid, " Ah, I thought I would fetch thorn !" He then repeated his assertion, and immediately afterwards announced that before he left Wellington he would give tho Spivitualieta an opportunity of dieou?sing tho question with him in public.
