MISCELLANEOUS.
An excellent programme of sports has been arranged to come off at Hamilton on the 29th of this month. Several of our noted peds are in active training for the' various events, and a good day's sport may be expected. Besides tho usual long and short races I notice that a long jump, high jump, and vaulting wilh the pole are down for to be contested. A two mile roadster bicycle race for a gold and silver medal ehould bring out a good field of our wheelmen. The ride up will be well worth doing, and as the road the raco is to be run on is ono of the best possible, with good handicaps a great deal of interest will centre in tba race. Miller and Cannon have been mntobed in Melbourne to wrestle Graeo-Roman style for £50 a-pide and the championship of the world, the match to take pKco four weeks from signing articles (Nov. 29). Murphy, who has long been absent, has now opened a boxing saloon at Double Bay, Sydney, A match is beirisi arranged between Samuels, the wiDtier of the last Botany handicap, and Suttsn, of Newcastle, for £li>o aside. The latter will no doubt have a start conceded to him.
