Auckland Annual Regatta.

Preliminary Programme.

The Auckland Regatta Committee met last ovening, and arranged tho preliminary programme for tho annual aquatic festival, to take place on January 29th next, to celebrate the forty-seventh anniversary of the colony. The schooner race and scow race have been dropped altogether, and the first race of tho day will bo tor cutters, 12 toi-a and upwards, and there wiil be but one race for this class of vessel?, instead of two separate contests, as formerly. The Champion Whulebout Race is, of course, tho feature of tho programme. Tho first prize has boon fixed at £100, conditionally that five crev, s competo, with an addition of CIO for each additional crew, go that if 10 crews competo, tho firßt pri;:o will bo £150. Othor prizes in the race will bo decided later on.Tho second contest in racing whaleboats is to bo for members of tho various rowing clubs, and not for alloomere under 21, as formerly. There are altogether 12 events, and those not already referred to are almost similar to the evonts on last year's programme. All races aro to be inside the harbour, but further than this no courses have yot been decided on.
