Irish Discontent.
London, August 18.-Mr Parnell'sorgan " United ire-land," denounces the Premier. speech at tbe Mansion House banquet, and declares that duriug tho last 20 years Ire. land had been cruelly manacled, and now it was proposed to treat the Nationalists' as the fellow countrymen of Louis Rfel woro treated at Manitoba. Such, sal. " United Ireland," was the burden of Salig. bury'e speech. But the Irish race has ever been accustomed to resist tyrauny in every form, and if the British Government intena to make war upon Ireland, let it be resisted by every Irishman in the name of his country and the name of God. Wool Prospects. The prospects of the forthcoming Sep. tetnber colonial wool auctions are excellent and *here is a promise of a further substantial advance upon the July closing rates. Another Exhibition. It is announced that an International Exhibition for the display of mining inventions and appliances, and mechanical engineering exhibits, will be opened in Newcastleon Tyne in May next; and it is ex pected that the Australian colonies will be represented at same. Anglo-Australian Postage, Mr Anderson, manager of the Orient Steamship Company, opposes the proposal mado by Mr J. Henniker rfoaton, M.P., to the effect that tenders should be invited for . slower and thereforecheaper, maileervice between Britain and the Australian colonist than was originally contemplated. Mr An, deraon urges that the colonies demand _ apeedy service, and that the modification, proposed by Mr Heaton would not be acceptable to the colonies.
