Meeting of Karangahape Ratepayers.

A MEETitfa of the burgesses of the Karangahape Ward, convened by Ward Councillors Garratt, Burn?, and Stevenson, waß held at the Newton Athenrcum last evening, fot tho purpose of considering the advisability of continuing 'Queen-street through to Newton Road. Mr Garratt presided. There was a small attendance. After a lengthy discussion, during which it was stated that the Ward members were noc wedded to the proposal, but merely wished to test the feeling of the burgesses, and^tbat it had beon ascertained that the claims for compensation would not exceed £2,000. It was resolved, on tho motion of Mr Green, " That, in the opinion of this meeting, it is desirable that Upper Queen-street be continued to Newton Road, as shown on the plans now before tho mooting." And it was furthor resolved, on the motion of Mr Warren, " That the whole matter be loft in the hands of the ward members."
