Tho concluding day's racing of the Australian Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting took place to-day at Kandwick. The weather wns beautifully fine, and tbe attendance of the public large. Australian Jockey Club Plate of 350sovp. For throe-year-olde and upwards. Second borse lOOisova from the prize. Weight-for-sgo. Three miles. Hon. James White's br c Matchlock, 3yrs, by Musket—l"atterins, Bst lib ... 1 Major George's eh h Nelson, syrs, by King Cole-My Idea, 9st 41b ... ... 2 Hon. James White's gr c Mo»te Christo, 3yra, by Chester, Bst lib 3 Also ran : Ceriee and Blue and Sandal. A rplcndid start wae effected, and tho race resulted in a great finish, in which Matchlock beat Nelson by half-a-length, Monte Chrifto being third. Five started. Time, smin 52£ sec.
Place Handicap, a free handicap sweepstako of lOsovs each for starters, with 300sovs added. For horses that have run first, second, or third in any race of the value of lOOiovs or upwards, in which not lops than six horses have started, after - the Autumn Mooting of 1885. The Nursery Handicap fell to Hoodwink; Cairo appropriated the Rous Handicap; Crossfire got home first in the Free Handicap ; ana Goodwood and Scobeloff ran a dead heat for first place In the Steeplechase.
