The annual report of Messrs Kempthorne, Prosser, and Company, the New Zealand Drug Company, states that the net profit during the year amounts to £10,067. After providing for the dividend declared, nnd writing off for depreciation £3,385, there remains, with the balance from last year, £12,154. Tho directors recommend out of this a dividend of 7 per cent, on the paid-up capital, carrying forward £9,231. The annual report of tho WellingtonManawatu Railway Company to be presented at its annual meeting on March 31st, shows that the Company hope to have the lino opened to Otaki on June Ist, and tho wholo line in eight months honce. Tho traffic returned since tho line wos opened shows the revenue received to have been £4,297 15s lOd, and the expenditure £1,359 6s lid
