Sir George Grey addressed a crowded and enthusiastic meeting at ihe Garrison Hall, Dunedin, on Friday night, 19th March. He strongly opposes large borrowing. In regard to the Bast and West Coast railway, he said chat if carriod on to Nelson, it would not be reproductive for a very considerable period of time, but if the present Christchuroh railway was united to Brunuerton, it would be most reproductive.
