The University Senate has resolved to disaffiliate St John'a College. Hon. J. A. Tole haa been appointed a Governor of Auckland College and Grammar School.

New Zealand University Convocation is to hold its next meeting in Dunedin on 12th January, 1887.

Ninety-oight candidates fer Government scholarships have entered their name with the North Canterbury Board of Education. Auckland University College invites medical men who are willing to take the anatomy lectureship to communicate with the Registrar.

Population is increasing rapidly in Avondale district, and the Board of Education will be asked to double the presont school accommodation.
