The Unemployed at Hokitika.
(UY TELHORAI'II. - PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
Wellinutov, this day. • The Public Works Department has received information from the West Coast re the reported Btriko of unemployed, It appears that the matter was much exaggerated. A few men loft, being dissatisfied with the rate of wages, but 75 are still at work, and only a few men have been bad up for drunkenness. Of 100 men originally out, 25 have preferred to stay in Wellington and Greymouth, or have left work. The report of a strike was a gross exaggeration.
