Wanganui, thia day, Br instruction of the Natlvo Minister, circulars have boen issued to tho Native Lands Court Judges calling attention to the power poBBCBBed by tho Native Land Court under clouso 4 of the Native Land Division Act, 1882, to order new grunts of subdivision without restrictions or alienation, though tho original grants may have contained reatrictiona. The object of thia is' to impose restrictions where required, and only romovo them where it is clearly proved the natives have ample means. Attention is alao called to many inatancca of injustice in cases whore restrictions wero mado for tho protection of a number of nativos who had placed the names of a few chiefs on tho grants and in many places 'tho few guarantees havo parted with the estate without any consideration of the interest of the natives. Koturos • f the removal of restrictions are asked for, tbo object being that the estates of natives should nut be iraprovidently dealt with, leaving a number of them practically landless paupers.
