Ordination and Mission Services at St. Paul's.

Bishop Cowie held an ordination sorvice yesterday morning at St. Paul's Church There wasa large congregation. The candidates for ordination woro the Beve. W. E. H. Pcrcival and It. 0. Hewlett. Tho following clergymen were prosent: -Dr. Kidd, Revs. C. Bodington, G. K. Mason, C. M. Nelson, A. 6. Purohaa, J. Batos, H. Walpolo, and VV. Colder. Tho sorvioo oponod with tho singing of tho 50th hymn, A. and M. The eormon was preached by tho Rev. V. Iho candidates were presented by tho Key. 0 M. Nelson,M.S., in tho noooseary absence of Yen. Archdoacon Dudloy. At the Communion oftloo tha Auto Communion was takfn by ihe liov. A. G. Purohas, Uio epistle was read by Dr. Kidd. and tho Oospol by the Key. G. ffi. Mason. Bishop Cowie was colebrant, assisted by the Rovo. Dr. Kidd and C. M. Nelson. Tho Bishop next addretsod tho candidates, and after the hymn, " Come, Holy Ghost," had been sung, tho ordination was made, 'iho Niceno Creed was then eung, and tho service wa* conoluded with the prayer for tho churoh militant. The mission cervices yesterday also attracted largo congregations. In the afternooD, the Rev. 0. Bodlnßton Ravo nn animated address to children, on tho "Sovon Pillars of Wisdom," which was doliverod in tho misslonor'a fervid and lluent style. At tho eatno hour, the Rev. G. K. Mason gave an address to men, basing his remarKs on the 10th chapter of St. Paul's Kpistlo to the Corinthians. A considerable auditory of men listened with muoh attention to Mr Mason's remarks. As to tho doctrine of confession, s ,id Mr Hodington, was not that read from tbelr Prayer Book that night In regard to the Communion service ? He liad taught that it a man dd not like to confess openly before the congregation, ho could go oithor to tho pastor, or oven to the vestry, and ttiero along with mem kneel down together and confess their sins to God. As to the absolution, it was also in fio Prayer-booh, and if any reasonable person who had not read their littlo pamphlet bought a copy and compared it with tho Prayerbook, ho would find that thoro w»a nothing in it that could not be found there also, Ho considered that tho Church ot England taught tho soundest doctrines of Christianity in the world, land he wonld say this with all due roßpoot to other denominations, whom he estoernod for their dovotednoss In teaching what they bn'loved to be true.
