One mile and a half. Mr P. Martin' 3 Pearl, by Bolton Green - Pcarlash, 4yrs, 7st 91b (Woods) ... 1 Hon G. McLean's Lady Emma, aged, 7stslb(Loughlan) 2 Mr J. Marshall's Kocklace, 4yrs, 7st 91b (Byers) 3 Thirteen started. Betting :3to 1 against Administrator, 4 to 1 Necklace, 5 to 1 Pearl and Talebearer, 6 to 1 Malignor, Lady Emma, and Patrician. After several breaks away, Necklace led a very fair start, but on settling down, MaMgner und Spade Guinea took command, and cut out the running at a fast pace." When half a milo had boon covered, this pair still led, running neck and ncclt, but rounding tho bend Malijjner dropped back, and pair shot ahead and wrested tho load from Spade Guinea. In tho straight, Lady Emma challenged Pearl, and the pair racing away from the field, an exciting finish was the result. Lady Emma, under the whip, was gaining at every stride, and was only beaten by a neck, Necklace a bad third, Lochieland Spade Guinea abreast following.
