Wesitokt, this day. A serious shooting caso occurred at Wai mangaroa, 10 miles from hore, last evening. A party of colliors, undor the influonco of liquor, were attempting to get into a house occupied by a woman namod Mary Ambrose, whoroin thoro was a Frenchman named Poron. A disturbance occurred, and subsequently one of the party, named Thomas fcimart, wont back to search for his mates. Upon his knocking at tho door, it was opened, and a Bhot was fired, striking Smart in the shoulder, and inflicting a bad though not dangerous wound, Peron is in custody.
