NEW CALEDONIA.
French Annexation of Now Hebrides.
A oobeksaondent, writing from Noumea, New Caledonia, says that trade there is in a vory depressed condition. He ulso states that Mr Higgineon, tho well known planter, has floated tho Now Hebrides Company in Franco, and that in order to f acilitato the operations of that Company, the French Government will assumo possession of the New Hebrides Islands within four or 1 five months. Tho Company has 300,000 acres of land in the New Hebrides group, and intend to pursue a scheme of colonisation on an extensive scale. Our correspondent discloses his sourco of information, which appears to bo thoroughly reliable.
