DEPUTATION TO MR BALLANCE.

Wangajtoi, this day. Mb Ballance left for Wellington yesterday afternoon. A deputation from the Chambor of Commerce waited upon him yesterday. In reply re tariff and river improvements, he,promised to inquire into the former. Regarding the latter, he said a party would bo placed on the river in three weeks to clear away the snags, as the central railway niatei ial will be sent by river. A deputation of Small Farm Association waited upon tbe Minister, endeavouring to get the average acreage for allotments increased. Mr Ballance refused to increase the average.

The Victoria Rifles will hold a church parade tomorrow.
