HON. MR LARNACH AT THAMES.
Low Level Prcspecting.-Tliames To Aroha Railway.

Thames, this day. Before Mr Larnach left Thames he promised a subsidy of £300 to the Calodonian Low Lovel Company, provided tho County Council would supplement it with £150 and tho Company would expend £2,250 in prospecting works. The Caledonian mine is at present looking remarkably well, gold being seen in profusion both in No. 1 reef and the Red Queen leader.
Assurances have been received from the Minister of Publip Works that tenders for the extension of the Thames-Te Aroha railway beyond Kopua will be invited for on 15th July.
