The Waring Taylor Frauds.
Wellington, this day. — The . case of Regina v. Taylor was yosterday before the Appeal Court. In January last, Taylor was tried at the Supremo Court for having converted to his own use £700 which had boon entrusted to him to invest for James May. He was convictod, and His Honor reserved for tho Court of Appeal whether there waß evidence to go to the jury, that tho defendant had been entrusted, as alleged, and with the direction alleged. Tho Attorney-General appeared for the Crown, and Mr E. Shaw for Taylor. Argument was offorod at length on the legal question, and finally the Court reserved their decision, Another appeal case arising out of tho samo fraudulent transactions comes on for hearing next Tuesday.
