AUCKLAND COLLEGE.
A special meeting of the Governors of the Auckland College was held this morning. Mr Thistle's resignation was read, also a letter from the hoad master, bearing testimony to Mr Thistle's vo.'tb. It was decided to write to Mr Thistle, ( accepting his resignation, and expressing regret at the severence of his connection with the college. A letter was received from the Headmaster suggesting the appointment of a temporary master at a salary not exceeding £5 per week. The suggestion was agreed to. There were 26 applications for the post of senior mathematical master. Aftor somo discussion, it was decided lo postpone consideration till Thursday nest,
