East Coast.—Mr VV. Kelly Uae addressed the Taupo constituents in connection with his candidature for tho Goat Coast. Ho eaid that if returned hu would favour free trade in native lauds, and get tho Thermal Springs Act modified. Tho Native Land Court should bo held oftoncr ; a four-horse bi-weekly service renewed between Napier nnd Tauranga. He likewise should voto for money to keep roads in repair in the inland districts. He pledges himself to no party, but thinks Sir Geo. Grey the best leader of the Opposition. A unanimous vote of confidence and thanks was gi\on. It ia thought Mr Kelly will got nearly a block voto in Taupo. Ho left yesterday for Ohinemutu, accompanied by Retreat Tapsool, who has been addressing his Maori constituents.
