Mklbourne, this day.—A grand Masonic ceremony took place in Melbourne Town Kail yesterday when Sir Wm. J. Clarke was installed District Grand Master of the English, Scotch, andlrish Constitutions. Fully 3,000 Maaons were present in the evening at the levee, and tho banquet, heldat the Town Hall, was attended by 1,100 people. The whole of the day's proceedings passed off with great eclat. Native Outrage in Now Ireland.—Prompt Retribution by Germany. Sydney, March 20.—Intelligence of serious outrages committed by natives of New Ireland has reached here. The advices state that the natives burnt the Herenhein Company's trading station at Noosi, and murdered Captain Moller and all the crew of the schooner Meoko. Subsequently the vessel was destroyed by fire. The German cor- • vette Hyuene has since visited the scene of tho outrage, and sholled the native village and killod six of the inhabitants. Sculling Matoli at Sydney.
A sculling match has been arranged with Hanlan, for £1,000 a side, to be rowed on the Nepean River on May 22nd. Hunt, who has arranged the match, will nominate either Trickett or Boach as Hanlan's opponent.
