The Orchestral Society will contribute" Overtures by Beisseeer and Bellini, and tho Cornelius March by Mendelssohn, Mrs Chadwick and the Philarmonio Society will render a solo and chorus front Van Brco's " St. Cecilia's Day," and Messrs' C andJ. Eemus, Edger, and Clough will per-, form one of Haydn's delightful string guar- ; tottes. In addition, solo selections will be . sung by Madame Pooley, Miss Staunton, | Miss Annie Unvgravo, Mr G. E. Such a highly I tempting coneort programme is rarely pre- | sented, and its attractions, coupled wita tho deserts of the bencficiaire, should ensure a crowded house. Messrs H. F, Edger and R. W. Sceats (tho joint Secretaries) -.■■ doservo great credit for the manner in which, with Herr Schmitt'a willing assistance, they have arranged the affair. It now romains for the public to crown their efforts with success, and to pay a just tribute of regard to a gentleman who , | has done tho cause of music in Auckland very considerable Borvice.
