Ti_ Awamutu, Wednesday. — For Rangiaohia Licensing District, the nomination of tho following gentlemen took place at the Public Hall today:—Messrs Mandeno, Rutherford, Sloane, Wright, and Stiehbury. These wero declared duly elected, as no other candidates were proposed.
Thames, this day. — Some enthusiasm has been aroused hero in licensing matters, and contests will tako placo in north and south wards of borough with candidates representing both tomporanco and licensees causes. In tho middlo ward only candidates of latter class woro nominated, the temperance people being about a minute and n-half too late with their papers, to their extreme chagrin.
