Thames, this day. Reuben Parr.—The drive on Dauntless lode at Point Russell level has been discontinued, and a winze is now being sunk from the old Dauntless level. It is about 20 feet deep, and has hitherto been sunk through sandstone, but the reef is momentarily expected to be touched. A small leader broken when commencing the winze showed colours of gold.
New Prince Imperial.—The thirteenth stope was commenced during Friday night upon No. 2 lode, above No. 5 level.
New Caledonia.—Quartz is in course of transit to the Queen of Beauty battery, and crushing will commence to-morrow. There are about 20 loads on hand, of which 10 will be tried before forwarding more dirt. About lOlbs. picked stone were secured On Saturday in the western drive, No. 2 reef, No. 3 level, and a couple of pounds at last breaking in the winze. The crushing shows a decided improvement, the quartz from tho winze shaping according to tho present yield of amalgam for two ounces per load, and stone from bottom level is yielding better than hitherto.
The New Columbia commenced crushing this afternoon.
The Queen op England —A party of contractors have commenced a section of 50 feet of the crosscut towards No 1 reef this morning at 17s per foot. It is expected that the reef will bo reached before the contract is completed.
New Prince Imperial.—Battery oporations of the past week, with 42 stampers, reduced 195 loads of quartz, producing 400oz8. of amalgam. Five head have been added to the crushing force employed at the Beauty battery.
