At a meeting attended by fully 3,000 persons, held last evening, it was unanimously resolved to call upon the Hon. A. McGregor, one of tho representatives for Hobart in the Legislative Council, to resign his seat forthwith.

Mr G. W. Binney offered the lease of the Auckland Market for twelve months at his mart, to-day, by order of the City Council. The sale includad yards, stallage, and rents. There was very considerable competition, and finnlly the whole was knocked down to Mr T. B. Hill, for Mr Macdonald, for the sum of £87 per annum, being £17 over the sale of the preceding year. The purchaser will take possession on the 10th instant.
