WESLEYAN HOME MISSIONS.
A most enthusiastic meeting was held in the Mangare Wesleyan Church on Monday evening under tho auspices of the Wesleyan Home Mission and Church Extension Fund. Tho congregation was large, and Mr John AVnllaco presided, who pointed out the duty and privilege of those who enjoyed the' ordinances of the Gospel of helping those who were not so highly favoured in the outlying districts of the colony. He thought it a privilege to give to a fund whose objects were so high and worthy. The Rev. Geo. Bond then, rend a brief extract of the annual report, showing an income for ISS2 of £2,ii87, and an expenditure of £2,030. The Auckland district had raised £732, towards which sum the Manukau Circuit had contributed £31, nearly half of which the Mangaro congregation had subscribed. The Rev. W. G. Watkin next addressed tho meeting. With very considerable force lie pointed out the duty "of the strong bearing the burdens of the weak."
The Rev. Alex. Rcid then followed, who spoke in his best and most forcible style on the object of the Association, and the claims of the fund on the sympathies of the people. Tlje outcome of the appeal was tho handsome collection of £14 lis.
A vote of thanks to the Chairman brought the meeting to a close.
