AUCKLAND ANNUAL REGATTA.
ProUminary Programme and List of Prizes.
The Committee of the Auckland Regatta Club met in the club-room of the Waitemata Hotel last evening, Captain D. H, McKenzie presiding. The Secretary (Mr Chas. Dacre) read a letter from Mr Hogan, master of the Kohimarama Training School, in which ho thanked the Committee for their offer to placo a race for boys under his charge on the regatta programme, and stated that ho would have two crews trained for tho event. —It was agreed that the race for heavy whaloboats be omitted from the 1884 programme, and that two races for light racing whaloboats be insertod instead. The prizes were decided upon as follows, subject to alteration at any future meeting:—Champion Schooner Race ; Ist prize, £150, champion flag and cup ; 2nd prize, £50 ; 3rd prize, £25. Large Yachts: Ist prize, £50 and sextant valued at £15; 2na prize, £20. First-class Cutters : Ist prize, £30; 2nd prize, £15; third prize, £5. Second-class Cutters : Ist prize, £25 ; 2nd prizo, £10; 3rd prize, £5. Yachts and Fishing Boats, 4 to S tons : Ist prizo, £10 and cup ; 2nd prizo, £5 ; 3rd prize, £3. Fishing Boats, under 4 tons : Ist prize, £8 ; 2nd prizo, i' 4; 3rd prizo, £2. Yachts under 4 tons: Ist prize, £5 nnd cup; 2nd prize, £3. Open Sailing Boats, 2nd class : Ist prize, £15 ; 2nd prizo, »LS ; 3rd prize, £4. Open Sailing Boats, 3rd class: Ist prize, £8; 2nd prizo, £4; 3rd prize, £2. Steamers' Gigs : Ist prize, £8 ; 2nd prize, £4; 3rd prizo, £2. Merchant Ships' Gigs : Ist prize, £10; 2nd prize, £5; 3rd prizo, £2. Man-o-war Boats : Ist prize, £15; 2nd prize, £5. Racing Whaloboats, Ist class: Ist prize, £40; 2nel prize, £15. Dingy Race : Ist prize, to ; 2nd prizo, £3. Kohimarama School lads : Ist prize, £5. Junior Whaleboat Race (under 21 years): Ist prizo, £20; 2nd prizo, £G. This list does not include numerous trophies which will bo added when received from donors. Messrs Heath, R. E. Isaacs, Houton, Laing, C. Rowe, and Captain W. Farquhar were appointed stewards. Mr J. Waymouth having rosignetl his position as a member of committco, Mr D. Oxley was apjKiiiited to fill tho vacancy. This was all the business.
