TIIU ordiuary meeting of this Board was held this afternoon in tbe office, Fort-street Present — Messr* Cempton (chairman), Waddel, MacKonzle, Mays, Clark, Thompson
Mikutes.—Tbe minntes of the previous meeting wore read and counrrued. Lkttees.—A letter was received from Mr Tole, Camurissieiisr of Crown Lands, transmitting a plan of the land atUaagitoto de>iirod bj the Harbour Boaid as a quawy reserve, atd stating the subject matter of the Hoard's request is uadsr coniideiation. Kelly'* Contract.—A letter was received fmni James Kelly, contractor for tho flusbiig pipes to graving dock, stating his reaiom for bolric^bahivd with his work.and desiring that the fines might bo remitted, his apparent negligence haying aiisen from circumstances beyond his control, and wbich had caused him much trouble.—The chairman raovtd, and it was canitd, that Mr Kelly's fine be not enforced. Calliope Gbavino Dock.—Letters were received by tke secretary of tho Marine Department, iafarming the Board tbat the pUna and specifications of contractor for prelimiusry works in connection with the Calliope Graving Dock had been approved. Powjck of Attorney.— Mr J. C. Firth wroto informing the Board that bo had received a power of attorney fr»m Edward Knox,. Ksq., ef Sydney, authorising him (Mr Firth) to negotiate with the Auckland Harbour Beard and to niako any arrangements that may be naces«ary in the furtheranoe of a sugar refinery in the province of Auckland, and submitting tbe same for inspection; also requesting tbo Board to cau»c to bo submitted by auction the portion of the foresbore near Duck Creek,
