INTERCOLONIAL FOOTBALL MATCH.
Selection of the Auckland Team.
It has now been definitely settled that the match between the New South Wales Football Team and the local player's will'take place on the Domain ground to-mortow week, 9th mat,' An endeavour was made to have the Auckland match postponed' until after the contests in the South, but telegrams received stated this to beimpossible. The team are now on their way from Sydney, in the Eotomahana, and will . arrive here about the middle of next week. Thoy play at each of the principal townß going South, and return to Melbourne by way of the Bluff. An alteration in tiie route could not ■ therefore be made. A committee, contesting of Messrs Henderson, Croxton, Bindon, Macky, jKobiiiFOD, Graham, Cotter, and W.
Sibbin, has been engaged in the selection of it team to play agniost the viaitira. It will be chosen from Iho following men :—Arncil, Carter, Clayton, CroxtoD, Bindon, Biggs, Henderson, Maeky, O'Connor, King, Ryan, Sims, Sibbio, Spencer, Woed, Warbiick, Webster, Whiteside, Joughin. It has been arranged thath'fteen of tbe above shall play against twenty all-comers in the Domain to-morrow, the latter team comprising Messrs Innis, Greenwood, BibbiD, Keesing, F. "White, Brannd, Leckie, Clayton (2), Skeen, Ansley, Newell, Stewart, McConnell, Ti Whiteside, Moginie, Coleman, I'rchard, C. White, Yon Stunner, 'SYaits, and Hardwick. Practice matches have been arrauged to take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, commencing at a quarter to five o'clock. * s there is now very little time to spare, it is to be hoped that the men in whose hands the football reputation of this part of the colony has been placed will muster up strongly at practice, and endeavour to get themselves into as good form as the short time at their disposal will permit. It is improbable that a match will be played by the Sydney team against Waikato before their departure for the South. •
