REDUCTION OF WATER TARIFF.

A sriciAL committee of the'wholo of the City Council was held this afternoon to consider tho revision of the water tarill'. Present: His Worship tho Mayor (in tho chair), Crs Fleming, Crowthor, Homus, Offer, Waddell, Montague, Golilie, Aicldn. —The Mayor introduced tho subject, showing statistics of income from water which warranted a reduction of consumers rates, Ho also submitted particulars of amendments' ami alterations required. After considerable discussion, tho Mayor, Councillors Goldie, Montague, and Waddcli wero appointed to bring up a report on the subject at an early date.

Lighting Sthkkts.—Cr Aickin drew attention to the fact that the street lamps were not lighted last night, although there was a heavy fog.- Decided to communicato with the Gas Company.
