UNION BEACH GOLDMINING MEETING.

A genbkal extraordinary ujcctinf! of the shareholder's of this company was held this afternoon in the large room of the Insurance Buildings for considering special resolution in relation to the future of tLo mine (Captain Daldy in the chair). The secretary, Mr Friar Clarke stated that tho shareholders- had been informed of this meeting Mr George asked for some statement of the company's affairs, so that each shareholder might know exactly the position ot the company. Tho chairman said that had been douo previously. He maintained that tho directors had done their duty, and he might say that the company was £250 in debt. Mr Webb Enid the shareholders had been kept in tho dark. He, for one, thought it was a good investment, and that gold had been got i .

the mine, and now they wore asked to pass a resolution to wind-up. Mr Clarke said tho company's statements had been published from time to time, and evevy shareholder was at liberty to investigate such matters at the ollicc.

It,was proposed by Mr Barber, seconded by Mr Morpeth "that the Uniou JJcach Gold Mining Company (Limited) be wound up."

Mr Georgo moved as an amendment "That the miue bo let on tribute." Mr Webb seconded.

The Chairman aaid if the amendment was passed a call uiußt be made. Ou being put, the amendment was lost.

It was proposed by Mr Morpeth, seconded by Mr Barber, "That a liquidator be appointed for wiiuliug-up the aifaira of the company and distributing the property." Carried.

It waa resolved, on the motion of Mr Morpeth, "That Mr Joseph Friar Clarke be appointed liquidator, aud i'3o be paid to him tor his services."

MrSalter proposed, and Mr Raudersou seconded, "That the property be disposed of by public auction." Mr Ring said this matter was in tho hands of the liquidator to sell it by tender or by auction, lie would act in the interest of the shareholders.

Mr Kanderson withdrew his resolution. The minutes of the meeting were adop ted, and tho meeting dispersed.
