POLICE COURT.-This day.
(Before J. E. Maodonald, Esq., R.M.) Drunkennhss.—Two persona were punished for this offence, Larceny. —Thomas Bremner was charged with the larceny of a silver watch, value £7 10a, the property of George Thwaites, at Auckland, on the 16th December.—On the application of Mr Purely, the case was remanded till to-morrow. Attempted KApk. — Salvadon Vas was charged with an attempt to have carnal knowledge of a certain girl named Sarah Lenham, under the age of twelve years, at Auckland, on December 21st. — Remanded till Wednesday next. Thk Recent Customs Seizures, Donald Watson was charged with neglecting to cancel the stamp on a thirty-gal-lon cask of beer found in the York Hotel, before allowing it to leave his brewery.—Mr Laishley appeared for the Collector of Customs and Mr Tyler for Messrs Watson aud Murray.—lt was stated that sufficient time had not been allowed defendants to consult their solicitois, and the cases were adjourned till to-morrow. Cases against Simon Coombes, James W. Smith, Patrick Bropky, John B, Ellis, and Walter McLaren Davidson, were adjourned till to-morrow, in order that the case against the brewers might be heard first.
