There are two foreign missionary synods (India and China) with five presbyteries each, and five other presbyteries in the foreign hold, viz. : Corisco, West Africa, Kio de Janeiro, Oroomiah and Siam. In these fifteen presbyteries are 116 ministers, 112 churches,and 5,926 communicants. The custom of carrying arms has become so general and caused so many crimes in Paris that the Chief of Police has determined to enforce the law of 1859, which forbids the manufacture, sale, purchase, carrying or use of daggers, dagger-knives, pocket pistols, sword-canes, and other arms,
