This morning about five o'clock tho wife of Mr Howard, junr,, fishmonger, of Welling-ton-street, found her infant, three months old, lying dead beside her in bed, Dr. Bayntun was immediately summoned, but the child had passed beyond the reach of human aid. Mis Howard states that she suckled the child during the night, when it appeared lively and in j;o<>d health. She then went to sleep, and it in surmised Unit t:io iuffint must have been overluin. An inquest will probably be held. '1 he practice of taking infants to sleep in bed in a dangerous one, and such occurrences as the present would bo avoided by the simple precaution of keeping a cradle by the bedside.
