Coromandel Steamboat Company.

The third annual meeting of tho above Company wan held at the Company's office, Ooromandel, on the 6th init. There was a large number of shareholders present, and Mr A. J. Cad man occupied the chair.

After the minutes of last annual meeting had been read and confirmed, the Chairman read the balance-sheet and directors' report; also, a detailed statement showing the steamer's earnings for the last twelve months to be a clear profit of over £300, and this was in addition to a large outlay on the ship herself; and the directors had every reasou to believe that the coming year would be much better than the last, as trade was already improving. He was also glad to be able to report that since the balance-sheet had been prepared they had been enabled to pay off one mortgage of £400. He now moved the adoption of the balance sheet and report.

I Mr F. Kissling, in seconding the motion, expressed his satisfaction at the state of the Company's affairs.

The motion was then put and carried unanimously.

On the motion of Mr C. Mills, seconded by Mr Fernandez, Mr George Hooper, of Auckland, was unanimously elected a director, vice Mr Holmes, resigned. Mr J. H. Harrison was' re-appointed auditor.

Mr Harrison proposed a vote of thanks to. the directors, for their exertions on the company's behalf. This was seconded by Mi- U. Glover, and carried unanimously. ' Dr. Hovell moved a vote of thanks to the captain and officers of the company. Several of the shareholders spoke in the highest terms of Captain .Margrave's attention to his duties, and the fact of the company being able to dispeuse with an Auckland agent reflected the greatest credit on him. Captain Hargrave, in returning thanks, said he was always willing to keep his boat running on holidays or any other time, so long as he was adding to the success of the company. The Chairman expressed his satisfaction at the saving which had been effected in the consumption of coal, and the manner in which the duties of engineer had been carried out since Mr Francis had been placed in that position.

The vote of thanks was then put to the meeting, and carried unanimously.

A vote of thanks to the chair brought the meeting to a close.
