HAMILTON, this day.
■Mr IT. M. Edgecumbc, the new proprietor of the "Times," arrived to-day. Judging from his able and energetic management of the "Bay of Plenty Times," tho utmost confidence is felt that the Waikatd interests will be ably advocated.
With reference to a Cambridge telegram in to-day's '• Herald", the committee of the Waikatp Turf Glub and settlers in general consider that holding a Summer meeting on the Bth' and 9th of January wi'l tend considerably to benefit the Cambridge meeting on tho l^th by bringing more horses to the district, as several Southern horses running in on the Ist will come up here and probably remain over both meetings.
