CORRECTION OF REV A. W. WEBB.
(To the Editor.)
Sin,—lt may appear presumptuous on the part of a layman to correct a milliliter of religion In Biblical knowledge, but I am constrained to do so In this case, as my friend's f-rror is as shocking to thinking men and women as it is misleadinn to unthinking boys and girls. I give Mr Webb credit for sincerity of purpose, end fed 3urehe will honestly and at once publicly withdraw his denial of Uod's word. In your report of his sermon on Spiritualism he says: "'lhe spirit raierd by the Witch ot Bnr.'or was not, that of "ninne1, hut a clever impersonation In which the worn in had an hand." Now, turning from Mr Webb's word to Gori's Word, we ara told that It was the spirit of Samuel. .See Ist Sam., xxix. 7.20. I hope my friend was not forced consoiously to deny Holy Writ to bo'ster up his theory that all Spirit communication is diabolic,—l am, &c, F. G. Ewincton-,
