FIRE AT REMUERA.
A FIKK broke out this morning at 2 a.m. tit tho residence of Mr S. Morrin, residing in the above district. One of the stable helpers in the employ of the owner states he was sleeping in the room adjoining the stable when he was aroused by tho smell of fire. He immediately got up and went to sec from whence it proceeded, and discovered flames issuing from the hay-loft. He immediately gave the alarm, and with the assistance of of another stable helper succeeded in getting out four hor.scs and the carriage, he was then joined by Chas. Wren, who assisted him in removing what was in the building, he further stated he did not smoke, and could not in any way toll how the lire arose. Another person in the employ of Mr Morin gives a similar account, and was also unable to account for the disaster. The building in question was erected not long ago. at the expense of £1000 and is tho property of Mr Samuel Morrin who is at present in Sydney. The building was insured for £300, in the South British Insurance Company.
