Garrett Bros.: Gentlemen,—Whereas, having received information that some person in your employ is in the habit of hawking leather In Queon-Btreet without a license, you are liable to a penalty, &c," aslcod Mr, Goldio for tho name of tho informant, which ho said was not in his power to grant. We then sent a lotter to tho City Council, asking for the name of tho informant, at tho same time offering to tho Council £50 to any charitable institution if their informant could prove tho charge. The City Council then gave us tho name of tho informers, which were Messrs. B. Gittos and Sons. Wo now chal__igc B. Gittos and Sons to pro^o their charge, which is utterly false, and without foundation.
