LORNE-STREET HALL.

Last evening being the twenty-first anniversary of the Parnell Lodge of Oddfellows', a grand ball was given at the Lome-street Hall. Shortly before eleven o'clock the Chairman called their polite attention to a few remarks which he in conjunction with other members of different Lodges had to make. He then thanked them for their patronage they had given to the ball, aud concluded his remarks by experiencing a wish to the effect that the future bull they would be able to be held in a hall of their ewn. The secretary then read the report, which was subsequently declared to be very favorable, aud showed the finances to be in a highly prosperous state, aud itwasaunouneed that during the year thirty-two members had been initiated. Several other members then addressed those presen', showiug that the institution was formed for the purpose of providing for those wants and other natural misfortunes which are accessible to every one, and that every member had equal right in participating in the benefits which the society conferred without favour or distinction. They would strongly advise others who had not as yet become members of a society to join at once, so as they might be able to provide for the future, Amongst the many who addressed those present were —N. G. Smith, Fountain of Friendship; V. G. Keesiug, Good Intent; P. G. Holland, Devonport; President Connolly, H.A.C.B.S. ; Charles Biuce, Lodge Thames, &c. The dancing was then resumed, and kept up with spirit until the small hours of the morning.
