PRESENTATION TO CAPTAIN W. FARQUHAR.
Another evidence of the good feeling which has existed between the Northern settlers and Captain W. Farquhar. the popular skipper of the Glenclu, and formerly of the loun, was afforded this morning. Mr McLeod, ot the lona, on behalf of the Mougonui settlers, presented Captain Farquhar with a massive and valuable gold albert with pendants. The following is the text ot tho address : " We, the undersigned, beg to present to you the accompanying gold albert chain, with Masonic emblem attached, as a token of our esteem and appreciation of youruniform courtesy audattention to tho comfort of your passengers and to the interests of the inhabitants of this district generally while in command of tho s.s. lona. With best wishes for continued success in your profession, and health and happiness to Mrs Farquhar aud yourselfand family, we remain your sincere friends. (Here follow signatures). It is seldom that the retirement of the skipper of a coasting steamer ia followed by so many and such marked expressions of their goodwill.
