The Opposition have vithdrawn their obstruction in the Legishtive Assembly. The debate on the loan estimates has been resumed.

In tho sculling match between Messenger and II earn, the New Zealanlcr, the former won the race by two boat eugths. The contest v.as most exciting. A collision occurred in the bay between the steamer Claud Hamilton aud the barquo Eden. Both wero damaged. An extensive modification of the tariff proposals of the Government is contemplated. The introduction of asianip lax is probable. The Bismarck, Germau ivn vessel, has arrived with exhibits. SYDNEY, lugust 25. A difficulty has arisen btween the managers of the Lanibton nine aud tho miners. It will probably rcsut iv a lockcut.

The Gympic coach baa boonstuck up by an armed man, who took a quantity of jewellery from the passeigers. The valuables/were afterwards rccocred, but the man has not yet been arrested.
