WORKING MEN'S POLITICAL ASSOCIATION.
At a committee meeting of the Working Men's Political Association,held last Saturday evening, it was resolved that a public meeting be called for Thursday evening for the purpose of submitting aud discussing the aim and objects of the Association, which it was proposed should be : "To endeavour to procure a better representation of the working classes in Parliament, and to watch duriug the sitting of the House its proceedings. 2. The Association to consist of working men of known good character. 3. That members joining shall sign a declaration that they will abide by and vote as indicated by the majority, considering that by such a course one of the most useful purposes of such an association lie. 4. The Association to be under the direction of a president, vice-president, and treasurer, with a committee of five from each trade, with a like number appointed by the public. 5. AVas relative to subscription, which on joining to be Is, and, if required, to be Cd per month, but if 6d per month be not necessary a lesser sum to be levied. , G. Resolution was to the following ell'ect: —' That the committee have power to make by-laws, such to be always iv keeping with clauses 1, 2, and 3.' " After making arrangements for another committee meeting on Monday evening the meeting closed.
